Canadian ice hockey player Gary Begg began his career with the Toronto Marlboros, playing two seasons with the team in the late 1950s. In 1960 Begg joined the Michigan Tech Huskies where he spent the next three seasons, helping the team to win their first ever national championship in 1962. He played 89 games with the Huskies, scoring 27 goals and making 51 assists, with him being inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1997. After his stint with the Huskies he was named to Canada’s squad for the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics where the team finished fourth. Begg then became a mainstay in the national team, captaining them for five years and winning bronze at the World Ice Hockey Championships in 1966 and 1967. After his retirement he worked as a lawyer and engineer developing real estate in both the US and Canada.
