Armin Bittner

Alpine skier Armin Bitter participated in three consecutive Winter Olympics, representing West Germany at Calgary in 1988, and Unified Germany at Albertville in 1992 and Lillehammer in 1994. His best result was 11th place in the Alpine combined in 1988.

Bittner was more successful at World Championships, winning slalom silver in 1989 and bronze in 1987. In 1989 and 1990 he won the Overall Slalom World Cup. In 1987-88, and 1990, Bittner won national slalom titles, and in 1989 and 1992 was the giant slalom champion.

Bittner married team-mate Regine Mösenlechner and they raised two children. He later worked as a co-commentator with the German TV channel ZDF, and in 2010 joined the national coaching team responsible for slalom and giant slalom.
