Reuben Bjorkman sandwiched his Minnesota college career between two appearances on the Olympic team, in 1948 and 1952. The 1952 experience was far more successful and Bjorkman received a silver medal for his efforts. In 1955 he again played for the U.S. National team, this time at the World Championships. Bjorkman later became a college hockey coach, notably at the University of North Dakota. He was known as the “Masked Marvel” because of the flight goggles he used to protect his glasses.
