Biography

Hungarian ice hockey player Gábor Boróczi began his career with Budapesti Építők in 1954 before joining Újpesti Dózsa in 1956, staying with the club until his retirement in 1969. During this time Boróczi also represented the Hungarian national team and was part of their squad at the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics. Following his retirement as a player he coached at Újpesti Dózsa until 1981, in addition to having several stints as the head coach of the national team in the 1970s and 1980s. Away from the sport Boróczi worked as a government employee in the Police department, and he was later inducted into the Hungarian Hockey Hall of Fame.
