Biography

Following the end of World War II Henryk Bromowicz played ice hockey for HKS Siemianowiczanka in the 1945–46 season before joining RKS Siła Giszowiec in 1948. Bromowicz had the most success with his spell at Legia Warszawa where he won eight Polish league titles during the 1950s. He represented the Polish national team for 10 years from 1947 to 1957, playing in 54 matches, including three editions of the Olympics (1948, 1952, 1956). After his retirement in 1960 Bromowicz worked as a coach in Yugoslavia and Poland. Sadly he died at the end of 1982 due to injuries sustained in a bus accident in Warszawa.
