William Fauver competed in pairs with Lea Ann Miller and Alice Cook. Fauver started out with Cook, and together they finished fifth at the 1975 US Championships and qualified for the 1976 Winter Olympics by finishing second at the nationals. They also competed at the 1976 World Championships, placing ninth. After a few years away from the national scene, Fauver returned with Miller in 1981, placing second at the 1981, 1983, and 1984 US pairs championship, and third in 1982. Miller and Fauver competed at four World Championships (1981-84), with a best finish of seventh in 1983, and they skated together at the 1984 Winter Olympics. They also placed second in 1982 at Skate America.
