Fred Fritsch competed in football, track, wrestling and boxing at Revere High School in Akron, Ohio. He later joined the US Navy, and was stationed in Norfolk at the time of the 1976 Winter Olympics. Fritsch was on winning 4-man sleds at the 1983 US and North American championships. He later became a chiropractor, running Peak Performance Chiropractic in Woodstock, Vermont. Fritsch also served as team doctor at the Olympics several times for the Guatemalan Olympic team.
