Finn Gundersen grew up playing both football and ice hockey in Norway. He later played professionally in football with Verona in 1957-59, and was a three-time Norwegian league winner with Skeid. Gundersen was capped for Norway 10 times in football and 17 times in ice hockey. In hockey he played for Templar in 1949-51, and then with Tigrene Oslo from 1951-56. He represented Norway on the ice at the 1952 Winter Olympics, the 1951 and 1954 A-Group World Championships, and the 1956 B-Group Worlds.
