Miles Burke of St. Louis lost his only match in the flyweight division in 1904 but still won a silver medal. Burke weighed 107+ lbs. (49 kg.), over the weight limit for the class, but there were only two entrants so he was permitted to box. Burke worked for one of the St. Louis newspapers at the time. He died of chronic alcoholism.
