Jim Hickey later became a coach of the US bobsled teams and eventually Executive Director of USA Bobsledding. During his bobsled career he was a staff sergeant in the US Air Force. Hickey was the driver of the 1971 AAU 4-man champion sled. He participated in the 1972 Sapporo Winter Games in the four-man bob.
