Biography

Polish sportsman Marian Jeżak played football, table tennis, lawn tennis, and field hockey, and competed in track & field athletics, but it was as an ice hockey player that his talent excelled. Jeżak began his career with KTH Krynica in 1947 where he won his first national title in 1950. He became one of the best strikers in the country during the next decade, winning seven further league titles with Legia Warszawa (1953–57, 1959, 1961). He also made 45 appearances for the national team, including playing at the 1952 Oslo Olympics and the 1955 World Championships in West Germany. After his retirement as a player Jeżak coached the national team from 1963 until 1965.
