Werner Kerth was an Austrian ice hockey centre and right wing and was a member of the Olympic team at the 1988 Calgary and 1994 Lillehammer Winter Games. The Austrian teams were eliminated in the group stages and finished ninth and 12th, respectively. Kerth won 132 international caps and scored 107 points (51 goals + 56 assists).
Domestically, Kerth played with Klagenfurter AC and HC Innsbruck. He became a three-time Austrian champion with Klagenfurt (1986-87) and Innsbruck (1989). He obtained his coaching diploma in September 2006 before spending his last season on the ice as Kapfenberger SV player-coach. From 2010-17 Kerth coached the women’s team Neuberg Highlanders, where his daughter Julia Willenshofer played.
