Narong Nilploy won a bronze medal in 800 m at the Asian junior championship 1997. After that he concentrated on the 400 m, and was a member of the national 4×400 m team from 1998 to 2003. At the University Games in 2003 he qualified for the semi final in the 400 m, but had to withdraw due to injury.
