Biography

Edmond Jacquelin was the greatest French sprint cyclist at the turn of the 20th century, and one of the greatest in the world. He was World Champion in the sprint in 1900 and French sprint champion in 1896, 1900 and 1902 and also won the Grand Prix de Paris in 1900. He continued to compete as a professional through 1914, with multiple other podium finishes and lesser titles, placing second at the Grand Prix de Paris as late as 1908. He was on the podium at the World Championships three other times with second in 1901, and third in 1896 and 1898.
