Biography

Jean-Baptiste Louvet was a French sprinter at the turn of the 20th century. His major palmarès was winning the 1898 Grand Prix de Copenhague. He owned a cycle store on the Ile de Puteaux, beginning in 1904. He later retired to Normandy where he opened another cycle shop. After liberation he becamse mayor of Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer. Sadly, his wife was killed by shrapnel during the Normandy landings in World War II.
