Passion Richardson was a sprinter who had a complicated course to a 2000 bronze medal in the 4x100 metre relay. She anchored the USA team in the first two rounds but was replaced by Marion Jones in the final. Jones would later admit to doping and the medal was withdrawn, but after an appeal, the other US relay members, including Richardson, were allowed to keep their medals.
Richardson ran at the University of Kentucky where she made All-American in 1994 and 1996. She finished fourth in the NCAA Indoors in 1994 in the 55 metres. After her competitive career Richardson returned to Kentucky to coach, and eventually became an academic advisor at the school for the women’s track & field and basketball teams.
Personal Best: 100 – 11.28 (1997); 200 – 23.56 (2000).
