Norway’s Einar Bruno Larsen had the distinction of representing his country as both a footballer and an ice hockey player, with him playing both sports domestically for Vålerenga. From 1957 to 1968 Larsen played in 155 football matches for Vålerenga, scoring more than 50 goals for the club and winning the league title in 1965. Between 1959 and 1964 he played in several matches for the Norway national football team, scoring one goal. This included a match against Iceland that was part of the qualification process for the football tournament at the 1960 Roma Olympics, although neither team ultimately advanced to the Olympics.
Running in parallel with his football career Larsen was also an excellent ice hockey player. With Vålerenga he won six Norwegian championships and was named the player of the year in 1963. For the national ice hockey team he won 60 matches at the World Cup and the Olympics, competing at the 1964 Innsbruck Games in the latter, with him playing in seven matches and scoring three goals.
