Biography

Albert Hatfield competed in the 1932 curling demonstration events. He was skip of the Connecticut team, although Hatfield was from upstate New York. He was a member of the Utica Curling Club. Hatfield graduated from Cornell University in 1896. He later became prominent in canning, milk pasteurization, and real estate.

Hatfield was president and manager of the Utica Canning Company, Sauquoit Canning Company, and the Colonia Canning Company. He was secretary of the New York State Canners Association, but he retired from canning in 1910.

In 1907, Hatfield organized the Sanitary Milk Company, one of the first milk pasteurization plants in New York State. He sold the company in 1912 to Borden Milk. Beginning in 1910 he ran his own real estate business in Whitesboro, New York.
