Alexander Porter competed in the 1932 curling demonstration events. Porter was on the Massachusetts team that tied for sixth. He was a native Bostonian and a member of The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts that did have curling facilities.
Porter served as vice-president and director of the American Stay Company, was treasurer and director of the Union Lock Stitch Company, and was a treasurer of the Massachusetts Automobile Club. Porter was almost 60-years-old in 1932 and died only two years after the Lake Placid Winter Olympics.
