George Willett competed in the 1932 curling demonstration events. Willett was on the Massachusetts team that tied for sixth. He was a native of the Boston area and a member of The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts that did have curling facilities.
Willett graduated from Boston University and made over $1,000,000 before he was 25-years-old with the Willett-Sears and Company. He donated much of his money to institutions and charities. However, in 1919 he brought suit again the Boston office of Kidder Peabody and F. S. Moseley, charging them with defrauding him of textile and holding firms. Willett lost much of his fortune in the deals and in 1924 was awarded $12,000,000 by the Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham, Massachusetts. However, that verdict was overturned three years later by the State Supreme Judicial Court, and the court refused to re-open the case.
