Biography
Scott Bankhead was a right-handed pitcher who competed for the USA at the 1984 Olympic demonstration baseball tournament. He played in college at the University of North Carolina and was then a first-round draft choice (16 overall) of the Kansas City Royals.
Bankhead played only one season with the Royals, in 1986, and then was traded to the Seattle Mariners, where he played from 1987-91. He later played for the Cincinnati Reds (1992), Boston Red Sox (1993-94), and finished his career with one season with the New York Yankees in 1995. Bankhead had a career record of 57 wins and 48 losses, with an ERA of 4.18.
