Biography

Craig Blanchette competed in the 1,500 metre wheelchair demonstration event at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Blanchette won multiple world championships in wheelchair racing. He also became a successful computer salesman. Blanchette married and seemingly had a successful life. This was derailed, however, by an addiction he had to sex, both illicit affairs and online pornography. He and his wife eventually overcame this when he went through therapy to cure his addiction. Craig Blanchette also embraced Christianity and credited this for helping save his marriage and his family and help him overcome his addiction.

Blanchette then became a well-known motivational speaker. He continued to compete and was badly injured at the 2014 Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in a marathon, when an unannounced course change caused him to crash into a parked car. In a lawsuit against the organizers of the marathon, Blanchette was awarded $4,000,000 in a jury trial. Blanchette planned to use the money for a wheelchair sports camp for children in Minnesota.
