The 1912 “Sporting Life” Marathon from Windsor to Stamford Bridge was an Olympic trial. Day finished 14th, despite being up with the leaders at the half-way stage. However, along with Henry Lewis, Samuel Raynes, Charlie Davenport and Arthur Townsend, Day was selected as one of reserves for the 1912 Olympic Marathon. Townsend subsequently got called into the team. Nothing more is known about Day.
