German rower Jörg Dießner, son of Walter and nephew of Urich Dießner, participated with the coxless fours at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, finishing 11th. Four years later Dießner rowed with the eights at Athens, and placed a disappointing fourth.
At World Championships, Dießner won a gold medal with the German eights in 2006, silvers in 1998, 2002, and 2007, and one bronze in 2001. He also added another silver with the coxed pairs in 1999. From 1998-2000 and 2003-04, Dießner also won the German national title with the eights.
By profession, Dießner became career advisor at the Dresden Olympic base and later worked as on-online journalist at Dortmund.
