German rower Bernhard Rühling partnered Ingo Euler in the lightweight double sculls at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and finished fourth. At World Championships, he won silver (1993, 1995) and bronze (1992) with the lightweight quadruple sculls, and two more bronze medals with the double sculls (1997, 1999). Rühling won eight German national titles with the quadruple sculls from 1992-95 and 1997-2000, and a further five double sculls titles in 1995 and 1997-2000. By profession Rühling became a graduated business administrator.
