Biography
German sailor Philip Barth partnered Marcus Baur in the 49er skiff class at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and finished a disappointing fifth, despite being clear favourites for a medal. Immediately after the Games the pair split up. Barth and Baur had won the European Championships in 1997 and 1999 and were runners-up at the Worlds in 2000. By profession, Barth became a graduated business administrator.
