Biography

Hungarian tennis player Petra Mandula played professionally from 1993 to 2005. Mandula achieved a career-best singles ranking of #30 in the world in May 2004 and a doubles ranking of #13 in the world in May 2003. As a doubles specialist she won seven WTA titles during her career, five of them with Austrian Patricia Wartusch. In 2000 she competed in both the singles and doubles at the Sydney Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals of the latter with partner Katalin Marosi-Aracama. Four years later Mandula returned to the Olympics, once again playing in both the singles and doubles. She had her best Grand Slam performance at the 2003 Australian Open when she reached the doubles semi-finals with Emmanuelle Gagliardi of Switzerland.
