Biography

Swedish tennis player Magnus Norman was just 27-years-old when his career was cut short due to hip and knee injuries. After turning professional in 1995, Norman reached a career-best singles ranking of number two in the world in June 2000. He had his best performances during that year when he won the Rome Masters and finished as the runner-up at the French Open, playing against Brazil’s Guga Kuerten in both matches. Norman won 12 ATP singles titles during his career, all between 1997-2000.

Norman also played in the singles at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, losing to Arnaud Di Pasquale in the third round. After retiring as a player Norman became a successful coach, working with Thomas Johansson, Robin Söderling, and Stan Wawrinka.
