Annar Petersen was a right winger for Gamlebyen IF who played at the 1952 Oslo Winter Olympics. He represented the club from 1949-61, forming a respected line with Per Moe and Willy Walbye. Petersen appeared at the World Championships in 1950, 1951, and 1958, and skated at the B World Championships in 1956.
Petersen earned a degree from Oslo University in 1960. He worked for 13 years with IBM, four of them as an assistant director, but then moved to A/L Kommunedata, where he was in charge of Kommunal Landpensjonkasse.
