Biography

Sonny Rupprecht was at his best in the long distances, skating the 5 and 10K at the 1948 Winter Olympics. Originally from St. Louis, he later settled in Kirkwood, a St. Louis suburb, where he became the owner of Bicycles of Kirkwood. The store stayed in the family after Rupprechts death, later owned and operated by his son, Mike.

Personal Bests: 500 – 45.6 (1948); 1500 – 2:29.7 (1948); 5000 – 8:58.4 (1948); 10000 – 19:00.7 (1948).
