Andreas Salat was an Austrian ice hockey defence and member of the Olympic national team at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. The team was eliminated in the group stage and finished ninth. Salat won 11 international caps. Domestically, he played his entire career with Wiener EV.
Salat later studied medicine and became a university professor of surgery in the department of general surgery (division of transplantation) at the University of Wien (Vienna). He became team leader of the kidney transplant sector.
