Biography

A left wing, Gary Schmalzbauer played college hockey for the University of Minnesota, starring in 1963 on the Buzz Saw Line. Schmalzbauer played four years of minor league hockey with the Rochester Mustangs of the US Hockey League, retiring in 1969. He later owned a nightclub in Minneapolis, the Cabooze on the West Bank.
