Canadian-born Mike Shear was an Austrian ice hockey defence and member of the Olympic national teams at the 1988 Calgary and 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics. The Austrian teams were eliminated in the group stages and finished ninth and 12th, respectively. Shear won 65 international caps and scored 27 points (five goals + 22 assists).
Domestically, Shea played with EHC Lustenau, VEU Feldkirch, Villacher SV, Kapfenberger SV, Graz EH, EHC Linz and briefly with EHC Basel in Switzerland. Shea then started a coaching career.
