Russian-born ice hockey forward Leo Stefan participated in the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics with the German team, finishing seventh. He won 100 international caps, and scored 22 goals.
At club level, Stefan played with Metallurg Chelyabinsk and SKA Sverdlovsk before moving to Germany, where he played for Kölner Haie (until 1990-96), Düsseldorfer EG (1996-2003), EHC Freiburg (2003-04), and EV Duisburg (2004-05). Stefan had two more spells with Kölner Haie at the end of his career, and in 1995 won the German Championship with them. He later became an ice hockey scout at Duisburg.
