Per Voigt got his start in ice hockey with Templar, with whom he played for its entire existence from 1947 through 1951. During this time, he represented Norway internationally at the World Championships from 1949 through 1951, placing eighth, sixth, and fourth respectively. Domestically, he switched to Tigrene Oslo (IK Tigrene) for their début 1951-1952 season and remained with them through their merger with IF Frisk Asker in 1969. After one more season with them, he retired from active competition. During that time, Tigrene were national champions in 1957 and 1961.
Voigt also remained active internationally during this period, representing Norway at the 1952 Oslo Olympics, where the nation placed ninth overall. He also skated at the 1954, 1958, and 1962 World Championships, where Norway was eighth, seventh, and fifth respectively. In addition to hockey, he also played tennis as a junior.
