A soldier in the Parachute Regiment of British Army, Dean Ward joined the British bobsleigh team in 1991. He was a member of Sean Olsson’s crew throughout his career and partnered Olsson as they progressed to being the number one British crew. Aside from his Olympic bronze he was part of the four man team that placed 4th at the 1997 World Championships. After his retirement from competition he remained within the British setup as a coach.
