Flatwater canoeist Heinrich Sack finished fourth at the 1936 Berlin with partner Hans Wedemann in the C-2 over 1,000 metres. In 1934 and 1936 they won the German titles. Sack was killed in action during World War II on the Eastern front in 1941. He is buried in a military cemetery in Kyiv.
