Biography

Flatwater canoeist Hans Wedemann finished fourth at the 1936 Berlin with partner Heinrich Sack in the C-2 over 1,000 metres. In 1934 and 1936 they won the German titles. Wedemann won five more German titles in the C-1 over 1,000 metres in 1937, 1942 and 1947-49. Together with Erich Koschik he also won the C-2 title in 1947 over 1,000 metres and the F-2 in 1948 over 10 km. At the 1938 World Championships he enjoyed his greatest triumph, winning the silver medal in the C-1 over 1,000 metres.
