Located on the southernmost point of Turkey, ancient Anemurium is located close to the present day city of Anamur. Gaius Ilius Aurelius Protogenes supposedly was a periodonikes, winning titles at the Isthmian, Nemean, Olympic and Pythian Games. It is not known exactly when he won the title - likely somewhere early in the third century. His event is also not known, possibly one of the ancient art events.
