All of the 1996 equestrian events were held at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, Georgia, 50 km (30 miles) east of Atlanta. This facility was built in 1991, and since the 1996 Olympics the area around it became very built up and the park was later used mostly for conferences and concerts.
Team and individual dressage events were contested over four days at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Isabell Werth won the individual gold medal and led Germany to gold in the team competition. The events were started concurrently with the first two days determining the team placements and the individual qualifiers for the final day of individual competition.
