Yugoslavia had little history in most winter sports, including luge. No Yugoslav sliders had previously taken part in the Olympics, but after the track at Mt. Trebevic was completed in 1982, they managed to train several athletes. In both the men’s and the women’s events, Yugoslavia’s best entrant finished in the middle of the field.
