Traditionally, the Olympic archery tournament is held in the most beautiful outdoor locations. The venue for the 2020 Olympic Archery Tournament was Yumenoshima Park. Until 1967, a waste collection site was located on this site. Subsequently, the landfill was closed and the city authorities turned this facility into a recreation area, where not only sports grounds appeared, but also the Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome.
Throughout the last three Olympics, the rules and format of the competition had remained the same but this time the program in this sport was expanded when a mixed team tournament was added.
The team of the Republic of Korea was considered the favorites of the competition. They confirmed their status as the best sporting power in archery by taking four Olympic gold medals. The biggest surprise was the gold medal of the Turkish athlete Mete Gazoz, despite his high ranking (before the Olympics he had the fourth seeding among male archers), but at the preliminary stage he took only 10th place.
