Known as British Empire Games (1930-1950), British Empire and Commonwealth Games (1954-1966), British Commonwealth Games (1970-1974), and Commonwealth Games (1978-present). An Inter-Empire Championship was held as a part of the Festival of Empire and can be counted as forerunner.
