Biography
Darvis “Doc” Patton was a three-time Olympian who ran in the 4x100 relay in 2004, 2008, and 2012, and the open 100 metres in 2008, winning silver at the 2004 Athina Olympics in the sprint relay. He also ran on World Championship-winning 4x100 relay teams in 2003 and 2007, adding a World silver medal in the 200 metres in 2003. Patton started out as a long jumper but decided to concentrate on the sprints.
Patton ran in college at Texas Christian University (TCU), leading them to the 2001 NCAA title in the 4x100 relay. He was US Champion in the 200 metres in 2002 and 2003. Retiring after the 2013 season, Patton became a coach and clinician.
Personal Best: 100 – 9.89 (2008).
