Biography

In 1959 Uruguayan cyclist Rodolfo Rodino had success on both the track and road at the Pan American Games in Chicago. In the former Rodino won silver with compatriots Juan José Timón, Eduardo Puertollano, and Héctor Placeres in the 4,000 metres team pursuit, along with bronze in the latter in the team road race with René Deceja and Walter Moyano. One year later he was selected as part of Uruguay’s delegation for the 1960 Roma Olympics. Whilst the Uruguayan quartet won their heat in the 4,000 metres team pursuit at the Games, they were not one of the fastest eight times to advance to the quarter-finals. Rodino continued to ride back home, finishing second on the second stage of the 1961 edition of the Vuelta a Uruguay.
