Guy Miserque was considered the best hockey player in Belgium from the 1960s into the 1980s. He earned 190 international caps, at a time when there were far fewer opportunities than in the 21st century. In addition to competing at four Olympics, Miserque three times led Uccle Sport to the European Cup of Champion Clubs, in 1976-77 and 1984. With Uccle Sport he won the 1964 Belgian Cup and won 10 Belgian titles. He was awarded the Belgian Stick d’Or in 1966, signifying the best player in the country. Miserque worked as a physical education teacher.
