Sidorova was world champion twice in individual foil and seven times in team competitions. In 1977 at Buenos Aires and 1978 at Hamburg she won her two singles titles. She took part in two Olympic Games with the Soviet Union. In 1976 at Montréal she reached the team foil final unbeaten, in which they defeated France 9-2 in the final pool, and thus became Olympic Champions. Sidorova finished the individual foil in seventh place. At the 1980 Moskva (Moscow) Olympics, Sidorova was 13th in the individual foil event, and was again involved in the battle for the team gold medal. This time, however, the Soviets were defeated 9-6 by France, and Sidorova won a silver medal.
