Daniel Revenu

French sportsman Daniel Revenu was a prolific foil fencer who won six medals at four successive editions of the Olympics, six medals at the World Championships, and three individual national titles. Revenu represented the French national team from 1961 to 1976 with his first international success coming in 1963, when he was 21-years-old. 1963 was also the year he won his first French title, with further titles coming in 1965 and 1974. In the team competition at the World Championships he won two gold (1971, 1975) and three bronze (1963, 1965, 1974) medals, along with an individual silver medal in 1965.

Revenu first competed at the Olympics at the 1964 Tokyo Games where he won bronze in both the individual and team competitions. At the 1968 Mexico City Olympics he won a team gold with Jean-Claude Magnan, Christian Noël, Gilles Berolatti, and Jacques Dimont, as well as another individual bronze. He continued his Olympic medal haul with bronze in the team competitions at München (1972) and Montréal (1976). His sister Colette was also a foil fencer, who competed at the 1964 Tokyo Games. After his competitive career Revenu worked as a technical director for the sport including at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
