Janet Dykman competed at the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Olympic Games as an archer. Dykman won two medals at the World Championships, a silver in the 1989 team event, and a bronze in the 1991 team event. She was more successful at the Pan American Games, winning seven medals, with five golds between 1991-2003, which included an individual gold medal in 1995, and an individual gold over 50 metres in 1991. Dykman came close to competing in five or six Olympics, as she was also an alternate on the 2008 US Olympic team, but did not compete, and she placed fourth at the 1992 Olympic Trials. Dykman was US Champion outdoors in 1996-98 and indoors in 1997. She was also US Field Archery Champion in 1990-92 and 1994.
