Steven Paul was born into a family with a strong Olympic pedigree as his father, mother, uncle and two cousins all competed at Olympic level. Three times a national epee champion he also won five titles at Commonwealth Championships before becoming a professor at the British Academy of Fencing.
He also had a career in front of film cameras appearing as Pierce Brosnan’s double in the sword-fighting scenes of the James Bond film “Die Another Day” and in a series of television adverts for Mercedes cars
